Consulting and custom development

I build software for the collection industry, and I have been inside these systems long enough to know where the awkward parts are.

What I do

Bespoke .NET development and integration work around collection platforms — mostly Nova and Aptic, and the surrounding estate of message channels, payment files, court and enforcement interfaces, and reporting.

The work usually falls into one of four shapes:

  • Integration. Getting the collection system to talk to something that was never designed to talk to it — a bank, a client portal, a dialer, a public register.
  • Automation. Removing the manual step that someone repeats four hundred times a month.
  • Data. Migrations, reconciliations, and the reports that the standard product does not produce.
  • Products. Where a problem turns out to be everybody's problem, it becomes one of the products on this site.

How I work

Directly. You talk to the person writing the code, not to an account manager. Small, well-scoped pieces of work delivered often, rather than a six-month plan that goes quiet.

Engagements are typically time-and-materials with an agreed cap, or fixed-price where the scope is genuinely fixed. Remote by default, on site when it actually helps.

Background

Two decades building and integrating collection systems across the Nordic market, on both sides of the table — inside the vendor and inside the collection agency. That is the reason the knowledge hub on this site exists: most of what is written there is what I wished someone had written down for me.

Getting started

The first conversation is free and usually short. Tell me the system, roughly the size of the operation, and what is hurting. If I am not the right person, I will say so.
